Of course there's a point to writing cyberpunk after Snowcrash ... you could supply him with an ending. I love Stephenson, but like so many of his readers, his inability (ahem, "unwillingness") to have his stories come to any conclusion other than a jarring halt is my biggest frustration with this otherwise brilliant writer.

  I think that Stephenson does write conclusions, but (like Dr Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveller's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations) knowing that readers will never have the patience to get to them, publishers stop printing the books a few hundred pages early to save on costs.
