  • the real executable lives at /usr/bin/perl on my systems, but it's symlinked from lots of places like /usr/local/bin/perl /usr/local/bin/perl5 /usr/bin/perl5 /bin/perl /bin/perl5 and probably a few others that I've forgotten about.

    Poor memory can be helped with a simple find / -type l -name perl, albeit it can take quite a while, depending on how big harddrives you have and if they're IDE etc...
