    For apache:

      Requests per second:    280.42 [#/sec] (mean)
    What kind of hardware was this running on? A 486?

    It's been years since I got less than 1000 requests/sec out of even an Apache default install.
    • They were running the benchmarks on a Sun Netra X1 400MHz server...the authors said "We had a SunFire X4600 available to test with, but it seemed more impressive to test this server on modest hardware."
      Make what you will of that...
