posted by pudge on 1999.09.22 4:49   Printer-friendly

The Fall 1999 issue of The Perl Journal is on TPJ's web site now. Of course, users need accounts to log in and read the material. It should be arriving in real mailboxes soon. Articles for this issue include Braille Contractions & Regular Expressions, Genetic Algorithms with Perl, Visual Debugging with ptkdb, Threadsafing a Module, and more.

The Obfuscated Perl Contest Results were printer in this issue of TPJ, as they are every fall. The Fourth Annual contest had four categories. The winners for each, from third to first: First Circle (Print a human-readable "The Perl Journal"): Tramm Hudson, John Keating, and Keith Winstein; Second Circle (Do something powerful): Eugene, Mike Guidero, Claudio Calvelli; Third Circle (Be creative): no third place, Art Ramos, Andreas Hagelberg; Fourth Circle (Make believe you're another language): Claudio Calvelli (Intercal), Philippe Bruhat (C), Chris Howe (Befunge).
