Yet Another SOAP Article, but this is the first of a two parter that I wrote for IBM. It features SOAP::Lite and a small Zorknapp application; what's not to love?

  • Is Dave Winer really one of the primary architects of SOAP? I know _he_ says he is, but from what I can tell, his primary involvement in SOAP is essentially that SOAP is similar to XML-RPC.

  • If you were to ask Dave Winer if he invented the Macintosh, the Internet, or Hypertext, he'd probably say "Yes, and it was originally influenced by MORE". :-)

    However, Don Box says [xml.com] that XML-RPC was an early-release subset of SOAP.
