Author is an experienced Perl user who maintains the Perl area of Dr. Dobb's Journal Website.
Have you taken a look at that area [ddj.com]? The first article listed is over 2 years old. The second one is from 2000. The third one is just a year-and-a-half old (Larry Wall's 'Apocalypse 4'). I take it that maintaining that area doesn't, um, take up much of his time?

Actually, I *was* the maintainer of the DDJ Perl area. But it was harldly ever visited so they decided to just let it stagnate.
I would LOVE to still be maintaining it, but I can understand the DDJ reasons... Sadly, the PHP area is very well frequented...
Anyway, trying to get Amazon and the book publishers to change the text is more more trouble than I am willing to go through.
