KDE 3.0

After procrastinating for quite long enough I finally decided to install KDE 3.0 today. What a pain in the arse. I already knew that the rpm dependency game would not be a fun one to play. Boy was I ever right about that one.

Anyhoo, now that it's nicely up and running I can honestly say I'm rather impressed. I've only ever used Gnome up to this point as I've always thought it looked nicer. Now I'm not so sure. I think KDE 3.0 is a keeper :-)

  • I gave up trying to install window managers when an attempted install of Gnome on my Solaris box brought down the whole system.

    Now, I just stick with whatever the distro comes with.
