tinman spent a few years mucking around industry before going back to school for a Masters. Currently not enjoying the weather in North England..
He wrote Perl that looked suspiciously like C code in 1998, while working as an intern, and has been trying to cure that bad habit ever since.

ActivePerl 5.8
As the front page news announced, its finally here.. although in beta form..
Strangely enough, I went to the PPM webpages yesterday and noticed a set of directories for 5.8 packages.. not having kept up with the news, I thought that a 5.8 had been released already and spent the next 15 minutes fruitlessly clicking around trying to find a place to download..Ho hum
This link would be the place to start..
