tinman spent a few years mucking around industry before going back to school for a Masters. Currently not enjoying the weather in North England..

He wrote Perl that looked suspiciously like C code in 1998, while working as an intern, and has been trying to cure that bad habit ever since.

Java does have a CJAN....

Its called Jakarta.. Heavens, that site simply rocks.

My "not quite" new year resolution: try to figure out what some of that stuff does...(I read BCEL, Turbine and Velocity and there was this loud *swoosh* as the descriptions went right over my head :o)

In some other random thoughts, while I was using my fave GUI versioning tool, I wondered, seems that everyone is embedding Python interpreters into their apps... first it was WinCVS, now Pegasus mail has jumped on the bandwagon too.

  • Jakarta's just the code name for a lot of semi-related Apache Java stuff. Very cool toys in there, though.
