My latest exploration of alternative languages takes me here... Why o why is Perl not easier to embed ? *sigh* in Java, at least.

Tim Bray seems intent [tbray.org] on making dynamic languages play better on the JVM. So you might yet see better Perl integration.

Does Perl even lend itself to this kind of integration? Probably not. I think that Python, Tcl and Ruby are more orderly internally for that kind of "port". Although, I am by no means sure, I have not seen *anything* about getting Perl on the JVM.
