tinman spent a few years mucking around industry before going back to school for a Masters. Currently not enjoying the weather in North England..

He wrote Perl that looked suspiciously like C code in 1998, while working as an intern, and has been trying to cure that bad habit ever since.

another year...

Spent the last few days of 2003 mostly engrossed in Dan Brown's novels. Saw a recommendation or two on Slashdot, coincided with seeing a copy of "Angels and Demons" at a second hand bookstore, bought it. Interesting stuff. Days later, I saw Da Vinci code.. couldnt resist.

Another research student here is interested in Asterix ! :) neat. He also happens to have some comics that I havent read yet, so had yet more reading to do.. all of which leaves me with a little less time than I would have liked to present "20 definitive papers on natural language processing"... due sometime next week (yikes)

Hmm,maybe I should make a new years resolution about my work ethic (and attention span, at that)
