Yep, York replied, they find my thesis proposal tolerable and offer me a place.. All's fine with the world now..
I get to do some natural language processing thing, so need to start writing Perl code again, and looking into Lingua, among other modules.. wow, this is overwhelming news for me at the moment. I honestly have so many things to organize, dont know where to begin...
