tinman spent a few years mucking around industry before going back to school for a Masters. Currently not enjoying the weather in North England..
He wrote Perl that looked suspiciously like C code in 1998, while working as an intern, and has been trying to cure that bad habit ever since.
Slow week at work.. that's probably a good thing, I should know by now to enjoy the calm while it lasts.
Woohoo, Warwick replied!! Yowza! The only problem is, I was sent a stern email on "how to submit a research proposal" by someone, probably the Department Secretary. Yikes! Ok, so now I need to figure out something specific to do. Saw the Codecon 2003 site, maybe I can pick up a few ideas from there, just to start. Strangely, I just feel worried that I wont make the cut..
Read most of a Alistair Maclean yesterday at work before I got dragged into a meeting.. Didnt have time to read Crossroads at home last night, well, just 30 pages..Played more Counterstrike.. and was VERY gratified this morning to read this Slashdot thread on Counterstrike.. apparently, I'm not the only guy who sucks at it, and wonders why (despite doing better at Quake)
