Almost a year ago, I found a bug (er, inconsistency?) in CGI.pm while working on a project with scrolling lists and optgroups. There was a simple workaround but I submitted a bug report anyway and then sort of forgot about it.
Do you have the Flash plugin installed? I find that Firefox is much faster and more stable without Flash. You can enable/disable it on the fly from Tools=>Add-ons=>Plugins if you need to.
If you can't find a Perl wiki you like, PmWiki might be a good compromise since it is written by a Perl hacker.
There is also a POE module and DJabberd.
