"Six words: Will Ferrell as a NASCAR driver."

[ #26405 ]

In browsing IMDB I notice that there is an entry for "Untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy." If it's anything like Zoolander, expect two hours of Ferrell silliness and debauchery.

What's more important to me is whether it will be a true mockery of the sport, or if it will take it in good stride and, for example, feature cameos from well-known drivers. This is an important difference because Emily is a die-hard fan of both NASCAR and Will Farrell. If the time comes when Will breaks her heart and she needs to pick a side, which side will it be?

There has always been an ongoing and confusing argument as to whether NASCAR is actually an exciting sport. As much as the cable networks hype up the races with 3D animations and burning cars, it's still just cars going around in a usually-oval-shaped track. If you're interested in an answer from a geeky outsider (me) looking in, you're in luck -- Even though I'm not a fan, I've gone to three NASCAR races (pictures for last two: 2004 2005). More importantly, I've written a NASCAR-for-non-NASCAR-people guide: "All You Need to Know About Nascar." Enjoy.
