That's such nonsense. Net:: is a hierarchy, NIDS is a noun. I think arguing redundancy is pointless pedanticism. A better name, though, is probably Net::LibNIDS by analogy with XML::LibXML.
Your opinion is noted, however I still think Net::NIDS or Net::LibNIDS are awkward names, just as I think XML::LibXML is an awkward name. Perhaps I should just name it Net::TCPReassembly
