In a fit of snideness on p5p, I said this:
As long as we're talking platitudes, why don't we just say you never have to
upgrade! In fact, you never even have to install the software, magic ponies
inside your computer will just know when you need it and go get it for you. [1]Also everyone gets a million dollars and a pet dragon.
[1] I anticipate the Acme::Magic::Pony auto-installer on CPAN by Monday.
Sure enough, in less than 24 hours: Acme::Magic::Pony by Jeff Lavallee.
I must use my power over CPAN for good.
Now where's my pet dragon?

And if only it had CPAN 1.93 as a prerequisite so that configure_requires is supported, it actually would be sufficiently magical.

kinda, unless your code does "use 5.010_000" - if that fails, it'll use it as a module name to install.
now, if it handled that, and upgraded your perl install... that would be sufficiently magical ;)

It seems both of you have mistaken my journal for the Acme::Magic::Pony bug tracker [cpan.org].
