Matt asked me to enable comments, so I tweaked the past two entries, and will try and remember to enable them in the future.

This may count for news in some places.

    and you'll see a pref that you can set to enable/disable comments
    by default. If you set that to 'enable' then you won't have to do
    anything unless you specifically want to disable comments for some
    particular journal entry.
