BitKeeper EULA Forbids Working On Competition. Apparently Larry McVoy, (from BitMover, the company that develops BitKeeper), told Ben Collins, one of the lead developers of Subversion, that he couldn't use BK anymore -- Ben Collins wanted
"to use bitkeeper to create a Subversion mirror of
the kernel repository". This discussion happened on the linux-kernel mailing list. On the other hand, Ben Collins
doesn't need BK to create a Subversion mirror, because individual patches are also available from FTP.
From having browsed the thread, I think that Ingo Molnar intelligently
summarized the
potential problem.
Side note : Alan Cox spells BK buttkeeper.
