Malcolm Lowry and the indian epic poems
I'm still reading Malcolm Lowry's Under the Volcano. The opening of chapter five seems to be an ironic paraphrase of the penultimate book of the Mahabharata. Not really surprising, the main character (the Consul) being an anglo-indian. I'm sure this must have been noticed before, but Google shows no trace -- must be one of those things that aren't on the web yet. Uh, now it is ;-)
