About Steve Coleman

[ #6410 ]
Do you know Steve Coleman ? He's an avant-garde jazz musician (alto saxophonist) and composer (and I like his music very much). He began to distribute freely CDs to the audience of its concerts -- those CDs being not available for sale. About this he says :

This recording is the first in a series of recordings that explore alternative methods of creating and distributing music. These recordings are available free of charge to the public! [...] Please feel free to copy this CD and give it to your friends! [...] Coming soon here: An essay on my philosophy on the distribution of recorded music (I've received a lot of requests asking me why as a musician would I supply music for downloading).
