Any sufficiently advanced technology looks like magic (or a plot hole) -- (via Elliotte Rusty Harold, whose Café au lait I read since before I became a Perl programmer.) (Meanwhile, I'm still failing to find the third volume of the Cryptonomicon in any library.)
