Homo erectus

I want to write a short story about how an ancient predecessor of man, Homo erectus, comes to live in our century. Doesn't matter how. But he learns to speak, read, write, and practice law, and then sues anyone who actually CALLS him "Homo erectus," as it is hate speech. He'll have some lovable catchphrase, like "ME NOT GAY!"

  • Though I suspect you're kidding, there's an interesting series by Robert J. Sawyer named "The Neanderthal Parallax". Basically, in an alternate universe, homo neanderthalis survived while homo sapiens sapiens went extinct. Naturally, a gateway between their universe and ours is discovered and in book 1, a Neanderthal named Ponter is trapped over here. In a similar light to Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land", one could almost view it as a fictionalized anthropological survey of humankind. Sawyer foc
