Disney Sox

The new chairman of Disney, former Senate Minority Leader George Mitchell, is also a minority owner of the Boston Red Sox. Disney owns the Anaheim Angels. I smell a conflict of interest.

  • Nothing new, he was on the Disney board previously. George is a Maine fellow, his heart will be with the Red Sox like a true New Englander. Eisner is no doubt aware that the Angels aren't George's team! His personal %age of the Sox will be higher than his personal %age of the Angels. Heaven help them if they meet in the post season, but aside from that, he shouldn't be meddling in management of either anyway.

      He shouldn't, but he is in significant control of both. I don't know the actual rules for such things.
