I'm Andy Lester, and I like to test stuff. I also write for the Perl Journal, and do tech edits on books. Sometimes I write code, too.

St. Louis Perl considered harmful

[ #16926 ]
The first time I went to St. Louis on Perl-related business was YAPC 2002. While I was there, my grandfather died.

Fast-forward to last Wednesday to my next trip to St. Louis, when I drove down to talk to the St. Louis Perl Mongers about testing. The next morning at 2:30, Amy's dad died.

My talk on Wednesday was well-received, and I promised I'd come back and give an advanced version, but I'm afraid of someone else I love not surviving...

  • Andy!

I am really sorry to hear about your families loss, God bless you all.

I also wasn't able to make your talk. As soon as I find out where we'll be in Chicago next month, I'll let you know. Maybe we can get together for a beer and some bullshit...

Java? Yeah, I've heard of it. It's what I drink while hacking Perl.
  • My thoughts are with you Andy. May God watch over and bless you during this sad time.
