I'm Andy Lester, and I like to test stuff. I also write for the Perl Journal, and do tech edits on books. Sometimes I write code, too.

A summary of Test::* modules

[ #16098 ]
Iain Truskett and I put together a list of the Test:: modules, with a brief summary of each one. There's a lot out there that you might not realize exists.

  • Wow, thanks! (Score:2, Interesting)

    This is one neat list.

    May I suggest that the next version link directly to the online docs for each?

    Thanks
  • I really like that list; I'm going to have to refer back to it regularly.

    Is it worth mentioning Apache::Test [cpan.org] there as well? I've started looking at that recently for mod_perl work and it looks to be a useful addition to the perl testing toolbelt. I know it' doesn't begin with Test::, but I feel that it morally deserves to be included.

    Thanks,

  • I was about to embark on something similar so you've saved me some time !

    Suggestions

    • Offer a breakdown by whether they are Test::Builder based or not.
    • Maybe extract the synopsis sections from the module POD so you have a "quick reference" document?

    Hell - I might actually spend some time and do it myself if you think it's a good idea:-)
