Ishmael

[ #28886 ]
I recently glanced over to see a friend of mine reading a book titled "Ishmael".

I bet him that I knew the first line of the book. My guess, which turned out to be wrong, was "Call me, Moby Dick."

However, that seems like it would be a great fiction novel... the story of a great white whale who is obsessed with tormenting this one Captain Ahab until he loses everything. Anyone want to set up a collaborative writing project for this?

Disclaimer: everything I know about Moby Dick, I got from Wikipedia.

  • You should read (or get the book on tape) about the Essex. That is the ship that the story "Moby Dick" was based on. It is a pretty awesome and gruesome tale. You will learn all you need or would ever want to know about starvation.

    I highly recommend it.
