sometimes, gambling pays off

According to The Wikipedia on Federal Express,

[FedEx] almost went bankrupt in its first year, but to make it through the christmas, Fred Smith convinced his employees to work at 70% of their wage. He then took all of his money to Vegas and made enough at the tables to weather a few more months until business picked up.

Now, that's risk-on-risk. Wow. Kahunas on that guy.
