Cheers, tedia2sql [tigris.org] looks quite interesting - I've used dia a few times in the past, and generally I quite like it.
Following up on my original post - I've had a look at druid, and whilst it seemed quite promising at first, I wasn't able to do a great deal with it practically, and it did seem to be very java focussed. I'd have to write a plug in in java to allow it to generate perl, which doesn't sit too easily with me.

slightly less relevently - I have a druid db schema parser that generates Dia and other stuff from it in Autodia.
