ADSL vs 56kb

[ #4481 ]

Blimey.

869985284 bytes (829.68Mb) over a period of 1.7 months.
With FunnelWeb 56kbps, that's $46.92
With TPGi ADSL, that's $256.01

Admittedly, that includes a $99 connection fee and we signed up with FunnelWeb while connection fees were being waived (even so, only $30). Vague inaccuracies, since the ADSL changes price at over 300Mb/month and that's not taken into account - but if it were, the ADSL cost would go up, so it's not that important.

All prices Australian, so think 'dirt cheap for USA folks'.

I think I'll definitely wait until I have a nicely paying job. (Calling all people who'd like a telecommuter.) Hmm. How much does a perl.com article pay? =)
