After listening to Damian Conway talk about Perl6, the same word comes to mind as when I read some of the apocalypses.
These guys have taken Perl, added a select few concepts, run a few miles smiling and ended up with pure beauty (or beautz using a german kezboard).
Maybe they didn´t run smiling, getting a decent design decent is painful. If you get it right the first time, you either havent got it right or you just forgot where you stole it. But I´m sure they were smiling when they were done. Hello properties. Hello smart match. Hello exception handling.
Actually, two more words come to mind; Power and Convenience.
This is powerful, useful stuff. And wickedly cool sometimes. The mindset that "ok, we can do this, but that´s not the general case. THIS is the general case, so let´s make that possible as well".
And it´s convenient. I love the distinction between syntactic sugar and syntactic vitamins. It´s the small things that matter, because it´s at that level behaviour is molded.
