Problems coming my way

[ #33093 ]

I got a new gig today, the gig is with my current clients company, but in another department.

The assignment will run for approx. 6 months, to ultimo October, which in my opinion is a long time for a project, but I decided to take it anyway.

One of the reasons why I took is was also the nature of the assignment. The assignment is GSM provisioning and migration of parts of an old provisioning system to a new system written in Perl. This will let me work with some Perl technologies I do not work with every day, such as sockets and binary data.

The project will also involve a lot of reverse engineering this mean that there is big potential to pick up a thing or to.

So to address my worries, mentioned in previous journal entries, on the lack of problems and the problem of evolving as a programmer. This assignment I hope will be able to extend my Perl knowledge and general knowledge and let me play around with something which is not database, web-based GUI, XML and CGI.
