Views blocking for iSight?

[ #30026 ]

I bought two iSight units today, something I have long wanted to do - now my sister owns a MacBook with a built in camera, I thought I might aswell get in on some video chat with her.

Read the help... and continued

I fooled around with it for the whole evening without getting a video connection up and running, I asked my friend Claes (CLAESJAC) to try to contact me with out any luck.

I tried some Apple iChat auto-responders without any luck

Googled some more...

And then almost at the bottom of a webpage, somebody wrote:

Thank you for posting this. This helped me realize what the cause of my problem was. In my case it was that postgres can't be running at the same time. Apparently there's a port conflict there as well.

So I shutdown PostgreSQL and it worked!

Next step must be to get the two to work at the same time, this resource might shed some light, too tired to investigate rigth now though

  • A year ago I ran into the exact same problem. At the time, the best explanation I could find was something about shared memory. Who knows? Glad you got it working too!
