The Circus Animals' non-Desertion

[ #10292 ]
On the way to work this morning I passed a camel grazing by the side of the road in the rain. Rain that may turn to snow at a later stage.

It was a dromedary like the "Programming Perl" animal but with a shaggier coat.

It belonged to a circus that has been setting up for the last few days.

Two years ago a circus set up behind our house. An elephant came to graze at our back wall. I showed my two year old son. It was impossible for him to tell that this was unusual. But I was struck by it.

Title, with apologies, by W. B.
