  • I was *so* hoping there would be a strike so that MLB would die and a new league could take its place.

    Still, at least they (somewhat) addressed the issues of revenue sharing and steroids. Still no salary cap, though and you still have insane salaries. That means the league will continue to lose money.

    • They have a "soft" salary cap, in the form of a "luxury tax." Sure, the owners can go $50 million over the cap, but that means they need to pay $25 million back to the league (or whatever). It's going to be, for the most part, a de facto salary cap.
