Terry Gilliam on FreshAir 2003:

FreshAir: What did you think of Harry Potter [ed. a movie for which Gilliam was auditioned and rejected]?
Gilliam: It was crap. It was pedestrian -- by the numbers ... unlike Lord of the Rings

The interview focuses on the documentary Lost in La Mancha, which follows Gilliam as his project to make a Don Quixote film adaptation falls into ruin and despair.

  • Terry Gross really has a way of rubbing salt in old wounds, although I think she does it out of something other than maliciousness.

I figure she just asks the questions she is curious about without knowing what the answer might be. I do not like interviewer who set up the subject to trash talk something else. I think it is very poor form.
