book flashbacks
A friend asked me today about the book writing process, and I was forced to relive the 8 months of hell from proposal to final submission back in '02. For those who don't know, it was an especially traumatic time for me because in addition to the book, I also broke up with my girlfriend and bought a house in the same timeframe. ENOLIFE, to say the least. I should have listened to Geoff... Now I need a stiff drink to help me forget again.

but really, authorship is a pain that we grow to love, and we would both probably do it again someday despite our better judgement. at least it would give us more excuses to get together for drinks
