Close to surgery

[ #23000 ]

I arrived at our OB/GYN today for Sarah's monthly appointment (80 days till birthday, give or take) just in time to see the doctor on her way out. Turns out one of her patients was at the hospital needing emergency attention. Sarah needed to wait an hour anyway for a test, and we were told the doctor would probably be back in about fifteen minutes.

Turns out after a while the nurse came back and let us know the doctor was going to have to be performing surgery and we would not get to see her. It's a little bit traumatic to be that close to something even if it is complete strangers. Somewhere, some family is going through a C-section or something else, after a baby nearly miscarried. And our doctor is treating them. Wow.
