Still up to my nipples in editing. Four hours sleep last night. Looking forward to the week-long vacation (first I've taken since joining O'Reilly) coming the week of September 11. When it all settles down I really want to play with the mDNS library, even writing a Perl library. It'd be cool to be able to write self-discovering doodads in Perl.
My latest OSX Perl hack is a program to automatically work wth ISO9660 files. It's a simple program that waits until a CD is mounted, then does something, then calls hdiutils to eject. I fed my untagged mp3 CDs to this program last night, copying the files to the Firewire drive where I could tag 'em with Perl. I also wrote another version that simply saves the output of ls for each CD, so I can build an index of my CDs.
