It seems ...

Every program will grow until it has a GUI, an XML parser, and a scripting language. Along the way it will have the ability to send or receive email (possibly both).

The scariest thing about this is that I told Matt Sergeant this, and he started pondering an AxKit email client. D'oh!

  • That possibility has come up at least a dozen times on #axkit(-dahut)... and what with AxKitNG being able to process pretty much anything and me working on a way to generate Wx UIs from XML.... you never know what could happen ;)

    Must....focus....on....work...stuff....

    • I think AxKitNG is very close to stumbling upon a large cache of holy grails. Getting to a state where a program can be written once and then run from within mod_perl or wxPerl is a very interesting one to ponder.

      But please stop before you port [x]emacs to AxKit. :-)
