Merry Christmas and TiVo all a Good Year!
Merry Christmas to all! We have finally cleaned up the paper, bows, blister packaging, and other present detritus, and life is returning to normal. This year we decided to save money by doing the "everyone picks a name from a hat, and only gives presents to that person" game, with the variation of "everyone gives presents to the kids". The best present was today, when Mum and Dad came around at 10am and took the kids. Whee!
Second best present was the present that Jenine and I decided to buy ourselves: an ethernet card for the tivo. The hardest part was getting the damn thing into my computer--between TiVo Hacks and a large amount of googling, I nutted it all out. I can now do a lot of TiVo control via the web, and (sometimes) download the TiVo streams to my Mac, where I extract the mpeg goodness within, and re-encode as 3iVx
