ExtUtils::ModuleMaker

Finally! Geoff Avery is my saviour! ExtUtils::ModuleMaker comes with a script modulemaker that's like h2xs for building the skeleton of a module distribution, only it isn't stupidly complex. (MP3 and notes online)

  • I was actually doing a talk right after Geoffrey Avery in Munich last year and I was also intrigued by ExtUtils::ModuleMaker and I tried it. I couldn't get it to install properly. Somewhere was wrong with the makefile. I asked some people in #perl (back in september IIRC) and they had similar problems. The version seems to be still the same from YAPC::Eu 2002. If you see him ask him if he knows about that. The thought about using RT hasn't crossed my mind yet, you can shoot me now :)

    • He's planning to upload a new version tonight (with several patches); it's worth trying again, especially as it now has Module::Build support.
