P3P/IE Annoyances

[ #20565 ]

I'm of the opinion that P3P, the Platform for Privacy Preferences, is worthless crap, but that's a longer rant.

Anyway I figured out what the IE/Frameset problem is when I finally found "Session Variables Are Lost If You Use FRAMESET in Internet Explorer 6.0". Sending the suggested header of P3P: CP="CAO PSA OUR" seems to make IE happy. I've got no idea what CAO PSA OUR means, but if it's a shortcut for "we're the good guys please accept my cookies", I'm happy.

  • Surely you get what you deserve for you using frames in the first place? :)

    • The problem is that we weren't using frames, our site was being framed by somebody else. IE is broken in this regard.
