Last night I watched the French film, The City of Lost Children, a surreal and very beautiful movie. A mad scientist is kidnapping children to steal their dreams, the hero is a circus strong man with a cast of oddballs trying to rescue his brother. It reminded me of a Terry Gilliam fantasy world, though perhaps a little darker. Very enjoyable, 8/10

They're awesome directors. I love their previous film "Delicatessen". Visually it's not quite as slick, but the story (for lack of a better word) is better. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet went on to direct Amelie (a fantastic movie) and Alien Resurrection, the last of the Alien series. It's pretty awful as it basically beats the franchise to death, but he did have a very interesting take on the Alien. I always wondered what happened to Marc Caro, though.
