iPod

[ #13086 ]

My iPod came today. I haven't quite got the hang of things yet and theres a few things driving me a little crazy. I want to rip a bunch of CDs to it without having them on my iBook and not copy the MP3s that are there already but I can't work out how. I ended up creating a playlist called "_CDS" (so it sorts at the top) and dumping CDs in there. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of iTunes, I don't like that I have to copy MP3s from my firewire drive to play them.

Am I just being dense?

  • you can tell itunes not to copy files when you add them to your library. I've got files on multiple partitions and just drag them into the itunes window to add them: itunes doesn't copy them anywhere.

Don't have itunes on this machine or I'd be more specific about where to look in the prefs...
