Business readiness of programming languages

[ #21896 ]
I have been playing with LinkedIn lately and even setup a group for the Israeli Perl Mongers.
So I also checked how many ?

I searched my network for names of programming languages (and linux for reference).
The results are:

               Israel    World wide
C(1)              343      15,831
Java              160       8,197
Perl               55       2,537
PHP                26       2,257
Visual Basic       25       1,686
Pascal             13       1,135
Delphi             12         827
COBOL              12         771
Python             11         562
Fortran             8         419
VBScript            6         440
LISP                2         271

as reference
linux             104       4,930
My Network:    12,200     785,900

(1) Interestingly searching for C, C++ or C# brings the same results.
