Things overheard

My local coffee shop has been wireless longer than most, and attracts a demographic that is skewed toward the tech-aware. On the way out this morning, I caught the following while passing a guy sitting outside with his laptop open, talking into his cell:

You can't just drop tables and expect it to keep working!

That was good for a morning chuckle. Then I get to work and discovered that when IT built out a Linux box for me, they somehow managed to set it up without any provision for swaping. You can get Linux working without swap space, but it's bloody hard to keep it working. It's an easy fix, but still...
