Bright, shiny vector space toys
The perl.com article on
building a vector space search engines is thought provoking. Once you can calculate the "distance" between two documents, you have input for a dynamic spring/glue particle model that you can animate and drag around. Ooooh, aaah. So tempting. And I've got big backlogs of mailing list archives that I could use as input.
But I so do not need another bright, shiny toy project right now.
Besides which, ActiveState doesn't have PDL available via PPM at the moment. And they're missing a bunch of other stuff, too. Hm...
ActiveState? (Score:2)
Your last entry said you'd just brought up Knoppix. A perfect sandbox for stuff like this, no?
