.... The best way I can see to do that is to become an active member of the Perl community, find out what needs doing, and do it.

With more positive thoughts and actions like yours then the Perl community can only get better.

Nuff said... I'm off to do my bit and go and see the latest London Perl Monger tech talk in Richmond.

I like new site... well done on the improvements to it.

The only quibble I had with this and previous site is the syntax colour highlighting.... but hey I'm fussy on this point (spent a while manually setting my syntax colours to look like GitHub on TextMate here!).

Oh and extra plus for adding "Perl Programming" text to site ;-)

Well if you like Rack then you should be looking at HTTP::Engine or Mojo for Perl equivalents.

Have a look at Mojo. I recently read somewhere that the author (sri) had written it with a Perl6 (port) in mind.

I kinda of agree. When I looked at getting a blog a few years ago it was a toss up between Vox & Wordpress for me. Would have loved to use Vox but was pragmatic and went for Wordpress.

NB. When Vox introduces colour syntax code highlighting then I may relook again!

If you want free online blog that runs on Perl then try http://vox.com./

If you want to run your own then perhaps try http://www.angerwhale.org/

NB. also read this if interested in Anglewhale... http://blog.jrock.us/articles/Ernst,%20Angerwhale,%20the%20Future%20of%20Perl%20 Web%20Frameworks,%20and%20Deleted%20Email.pod

For Perlsphere you just email perlsphere@downlode.org Only took a couple of days before Earle (Hex) added my blog.

IIRC Perlshpere was created by Earle because to get your blog added to planet.perl.org required two referrers (perhaps even recommendations from bloggers already on planet?).

I subscribe to both & http://ironman.enlightenedperl.org/

Yes unfortunately MojoMojo uses Catalyst / DBIx:Class so it is a big beast ;-(

Still if u like something sweet & small then u could do it 11 lines using the Squatting web microframework... http://github.com/beppu/squatting/blob/master/eg/MicroWiki.pm

In all seriousness I have been thinking of writing a lightweight file based Wiki using Squatting. There is already a "fledging" Wiki app in Squatting example directory... http://cpansearch.perl.org/src/BEPPU/Squatting-0.52/eg/Wiki.pm
