Austrian Perl Workshop is over ...

[ #18902 ]
So, the first Austrian Perl Workshop is over.

According to feedback by attendees, it was I success, and I think the same. We had a lot of interesting talks, a very nice location, very interesting coffee-break-chatter, two pumpkings (Nicholas Clark and Leo Tötsch), 50-30 attendees and a lot of fun!

Some highlights I definitly remember althoug I'm still lagging quite a lot of sleep in spite of having slept all afternoon:

  • Leo implementing a new parrot multimethod live on the podium
  • Nicholas talking (not all too fast) about Perl development (even if some german-speakers might have been confused about perl-five-eight-naught)
  • The famous Wuerschtl-Ziaga (don't ask!)
  • Richard F___y (name anonymized so I don't get shot for telling, and anyway, you didn't hear it from me) complaining about wasting one hour a day in boring meetings and having to work at his office-desk instead of somewhere on the moon.
  • Unicycle lessions by Richard Lippman
  • Watching Leo drink beer with the same speed (and in the same quantitiy) as he's producing parrot code
  • and of course all the people attending and talking!

I'll now collect slides, pictures etc and make them available on the site as soon as a) I get them and b) is working again. Expect another workshop next year!
